Architect/ Researcher

a bit about me:
Dalia Mohamed Fawzy is an architect, urban designer and researcher. She is a Research Assistant of Architecture and Urban Design at The National Research Centre (NRC). Her research aims to influence urban design and architecture practices through three areas of expertise: safe urban design, recycled materials in landscape, urban development and resources efficiency. Prior to joining NRC, Arch. Dalia taught at Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AAST) and Modern University for Technology and Information ( MTI). She finished her MSc. In Sustainable Landscape at Cairo University, Architecture Department. Besides her career, she had the opportunity to join the research team of Tarek Waly Center as an intern. Beside these steps in her career, she was an exchange student at Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg in Germany as an exchange student in post studies in urban design and urban planning. Moreover, Arch. Dalia was the main researcher for a seed fund research project for two years, she focused on safe streetscape for women studies.
As an academic and architect, Dalia seeks to attend and work on projects which tackle sustainability and urban development issues. She was an invited speaker by a variety of academic institutions and conferences including Archcairo conference, Hafencity University Hamburg, and NRC. Moreover, she attended workshops related to urban development in Cairo & Germany. In addition to this, she participated in volunteering work as a cofounder in Cairo Urban Sketchers initiative since 2015, as a participant in Athar Lina research Project in Megawra. Arch. Dalia won several architectural and photography competitions including 1 ) third-place winner in SEED ( Reshaping the streets )-Local competition- MSA University -Cairo, Egypt; 2) Best photos in Heliopolis HeritagePhotography Exhibition ; 3) Third Place Winner in PastPreservers 2018 Annual photo competition.
